Water dropwort or water hemlock, Oenanthe aquatica (Phellandrium aquaticum), with flower, leaf, stalk and root. Turpin (17751840) was one of the three giants of French botanical art of the era alongside Pierre Joseph Redoute and Pancrace Bessa.
