The Annual Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition in New York City is widely recognized as one of the nation’s preeminent moot court competitions.

The competition promotes and recognizes the finest oral and written advocacy on significant issues in bankruptcy practice. Approximately 50 law school teams participate, making this the largest single site appellate moot court competition.

Jointly sponsored by St. John’s University School of Law and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the competition is named in memory of St. John’s alumnus, former ABI Director and former Chief Judge Conrad B. Duberstein.

The Duberstein Competition is well known for the quality of its judging. New York is a center of bankruptcy practice, and area bankruptcy practitioners judge the preliminary rounds and briefs. Selected for the Dean's Scholarship based on academic and professional credentials.

Completed Ironman Mont-Tremblant on August 19, 2012. This consisted of a 2.4 mile open-water swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. I finished in 14:58:36.

This practical course was meant to increase student awareness of the gap between law school and practice. The course used a problem-based methodology by raising issues that call for the simultaneous application of multiple bodies of substantive law.
