Leupold Ballistic FireDot ReticleLeupold Ballistic FireDot reticle was designed for long range hunting, when aiming time is critical. This reticle looks like German #4 reticle with side lines tapered to the center. There is a circle with the bright dot inside of it, that allows you to aim quickly when there is such need. This reticle has an aiming points that allow you holdover for the bullet drop.

Leupold Ballistic FireDot reticle is ideal for varmint, antelope, and longer shots on big game. 

To use Ballistic FireDot reticle properly your rifle must be sighted-in at the distance of 200 yards for the Group A cartridges and at the 300 yards for the Group C cartridges. Refer to the table below to determine what kind of cartridge do you use. The hash marks below the center crosshair (first mark is bottom of the circle) will be correct at the distance of  300, 400 and 500 yards for the Gruop A cartridges and for the distance of 400, 500 and 600 yards for the Group C cartridges. To use any of holdover points you should set your rifle scope to the highest magnification.

Leupold Ballistic FireDot Reticle Cartridge ListThe dot at the center of Ballistic FireDot reticle covers 1″ at the 100 yards at the highest magnification and 2.5″ at the lowest magnification. As the distance to the target increase the dot size will increase as well. At the 200 yards it will be 2″/5″, at the 300 yards – 3″/7.5″ and so on. Circle Inside will cover 4.4″ of the target at the 100 yards at the highest magnification and 11″ at the lowest. As distance to the target increase these numbers increase proportionally.

  • VX•R 2-7×33
  • VX•R 3-9×40
  • VX•R 3-9×50
  • VX•R 4-12×40
  • VX•R 4-12×50

Remember that in order to use Ballistic FireDot reticle properly you must determine the Group of cartridge that you use and put your rifle scope to highest magnification before use of any holdover points.
