November 1, 2023This silk floss is a bit hard to work with. It shreds a bit and dulls out as you work it. If you separate it into two strands the strands won’t come together into one working strand. I recommend you use a short strand even though it will mean knotting and Re threading more frequently. It is a really pretty sheen and it is a pity it doesn’t hold up better.
Beautiful finish, fine and easy to thread needle

May 3, 2021Gorgeous vibrant colors. Thin fine threads which are easy to put into the eye of the needle. Doesn’t store well on the DMC plastic bobbins. The individual strands will appear messy and it won’t neatly wrap around the bobbin. Harder to embroider with than cotton Pearl floss but the sheen from the satin finish always adds such a gorgeous pop to your project. I often will remove on single strand of the satin floss and mix it with 2 strands of regular cotton 6ply dmc floss. Recommend highly.
Shiny but slippery

January 29, 2024Bought this because the color I needed wasn't available in regular DMC thread (at the store). Yes it works completely fine, but it is very slippery and I had to anchor it really well to keep the stitches from coming loose. Would not recommend using satin floss for cross stitch as a beginner.

January 2, 2025Little embroidery thread for the price, but I love the quality. I use this to do faces for my animgurumi and sewing things onto my crochet projects. This gives them a nice glossy look to their cheeks, or for their eyebrows, or around eyes to make them stand out.
