A great idea that became a hot mess…

I wanted to love this item since it was not your usual jacket or sweater but something more like the two rolled into one. I also liked the choice of the not so ordinary color pink for the cool spring evenings and for summertime in the chilly air conditioned conference rooms and restaurants (hey! climate change folks-conservation) where the thermostat was nowhere to be found by any employee. And wearing this cute jacket with a print button down and some darker slacks (browns and greens) might get me into the early fall. Unfortunately, I had to break into a chorus of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” after following the directions for laundering. Hand washing then hand blocking it, I saw this thing became a monster. The sides of the sweater became uneven- longer in the front, about 4 inches shorter in the back, the collar would no longer stay flat on one side, the buttonholes were misshapen, the side seams could not be matched unless you wanted your buttons to be worn all on one side of your pink topper. Honestly, about the only thing that remained as expected were the sleeves. I was devastated with the disappointment but these things happen from time to time. But it is mostly about being and upset. Now starts the hassle for the return which has become one of the worst customer experiences I have seen since the understandable COVID insanity. Many of those companies that initiated new and burdensome return/exchange procedures are now gone.
Not as Pictured in Catalog

Very disappointed with this blazer. Vicuña color is not anything like the rich cinnamon color shown in the catalog. It is more of a sad pale beige. Also the length is about 3-4 inches shorter than shown in your catalog (for sizes XL and 1X). On the model the jacket comes to her upper thigh. Mine is high hip length, with no butt coverage whatsoever! All of my blouses would hang inches below this “jacket”. The material is also heavy and stiff, not soft and drapey as pictured. I feel like this jacket may have been designed with the “one length fits all” cut as so many of the petite and smaller reviews have stated sleeves and length are too long and those wearing larger sizes have found it too short. Lands End please don’t fall into the category of lumping women’s sizes into the one-size (or length) fits all grouping. Petite women have shorter arms and torsos, while us larger women often have longer arms and torsos. I want the jacket that was pictured in my catalog, not the frumpy one I got. It will be returned.
Beautiful, Well Made, With A Classic Style!

This sweater runs BIG (maybe 1 size) but is Not Bulky....I love them, I have 2 & back for another....I want all the colors!

I am 5ft tall, 44B bust/42 waist/42 hips & 187lbs.
I wear 2X (20-22 ) tops/sweaters.

I wanted a bigger sweater or sweater jacket that was Not Bulky or too long so I could wear a thin V neck sweater under it & maybe a collard blouse or a T-shirt under that, for a classic layered look.

I am short & have heavy arms so going 1 size bigger was too big everywhere else on me. But this size 2X sweater has plenty of room for me to wear all of it, without looking like my arms & body are squeezed in like a stuffed sausage.

SLEEVES; (wide & long), 27 in long from the shoulder seam to the wrist & 17 inches from the arm pit to the wrist. There are no cuffs or banding at the wrist, but they roll under or over & stay put beautifully. Just pushing the sleeves up didn't work for me, my arms are too short.

SWEATER LENGTH; from the mid shoulder to bottom is 30 in. long.

SWEATER WIDTH; 50 in. all the way around from the chest, waist, to bottom hips. I can button it with a thin cashmere sweater & tank top under & still have about 2in. room in the waist.

2 POCKETS; BONUS!...are 6in deep X 5in wide made of a soft knit material that is stretchy. It has room for a phone & keys in just 1 pocket! My phone is 7X3.25 it fits great & it doesn't fall out.

WEIGHT; the sweater is heavy...but Not Bulky.

I put on a light blue stripped button down oxford shirt & rolled the cuff on the outside of the Dark Blue sweater & it looked so cute. My sister & her 19 yr old daughter/my niece came over & watched me try on different looks, now they both want this sweater too. I can't wait for winter.

These sweater jackets are so versatile & can be worn with so many different style tops & so many different ways. I bought the Black & the Dark Blue, I am back to buy the Khaki color one, maybe the green too before it disappears!

This sweater feels & looks very expensive. It's so versatile & has a classic style that can be worn casually with a crop T-Shirt & jeans or with a silk blouse & skirt for business. A true Classic winter wardrobe staple for any age category, from Gen Z to Boomer!
Weird Fit/ Wrong Color Sent
· Review provided by Lands' End · 2024. gada 1. novembris
One Star for sending the wrong color. I purchased the Espresso color and received the Vicuna color which is exactly the same as Classic Camel. I decided to try it on to see if it was worth getting a replacement in the correct color. Nope. The sizing and design are really weird. It is really boxy above the waist and barely big enough around the hips. Generally, I order size Large in Land's end tops but decided to XL on this jacket so my sweaters would fit underneath. The snug hips should not have been an issue with an XL, but oh well. If you have wide shoulders and slimmer hips this is the jacket for you. Since Lands End blew it with the color back it goes. BTW it is made of very nice fabric.
