Updated review: Returning for refund
TallGal15· Review provided by Lands' End · 2024. gada 23. novembris
Update to my review from a few days ago:
I recently wrote a very favorable review of these turtlenecks in Tall, based on their sizing and fit out of the package. (I haven’t worn them other than to try them on, and haven’t washed them yet either.)
I assumed they would keep their relative size and shape if adhering to the washing instructions.
I now see multiple reviews detailing significant shrinkage and post-wash changes to the neck and cuffs - and a LE note on the website (noting ‘unusual shrinkage’) that now recommends disregarding the washing/drying instructions sewn into the garments, not placing them in the dryer at all, and instead laying them flat to dry! This no longer sounds like a sturdy enough item for my lifestyle. (I don’t have that kind of space in my tiny apartment, either.)

I’m a Tall who assumed the turtlenecks I received would keep their current sizing (as in the past) - but now see that this item is no longer made of Supima cotton.
Given the significant shrinkage others have reported (even after washing in cold water and hanging to dry), I don’t want to risk a similar fate. I was replacing regular size LE cotton turtlenecks that shrank after a few years of very frequent washing and wearing!
I am now returning the two new turtlenecks I recently purchased.

I now recall thinking (upon trying them on) that the mock neck seemed tighter and unlike the LE cotton turtlenecks I purchased in recent years - but those were Supima. (I thought these were too, but apparently they’re not.)
The LE Supima turtlenecks are now sold out in most sizes.
Looks like I’ll have to try again next year.

Thanks, LE shoppers, for warning the rest of us!
LE, please ensure quality control at the factories where your products are produced - using only PRESHRUNK cotton, (as had been the standard for LE products for years!). The multiple reports of significant shrinkage of these garments and the mock necks strongly suggests that the factories where these are being manufactured are no longer using preshrunk cotton.

Transparency is key. Please advise consumers in writing - item by item - whether cotton or cotton blend items are made with preshrunk cotton or not.
Updated review: Returning for refund

Your website inexplicably crashed and ate this updated review 3x tonight, but I do not want my previous (favorable) review (based on only trying them on a few days ago) to mislead other customers into thinking this is a quality product. I haven’t worn or washed them - and now won’t, either. I’m returning them for a refund.

I just discovered multiple online reviews here reporting significant shrinkage - even after just one wash - even by people who reported using cold water wash, and hanging these turtlenecks to dry! That is neither the sign of a quality product, nor indicative of the use of PRESHRUNK COTTON, as had been LE’s standard.

I did notice the mock neck initially felt tight as I tried it on. I was replacing older, regular size (vs Tall) LE turtlenecks that shrank after frequent washes and wearing over years. I’m Tall, and need every quarter inch of length I can get and hold on to!

I purchased LE turtlenecks last year that held up well to frequent washes and wearing - but they were Supima. These don’t mention Supima, so likely aren’t. I don’t want to waste money on disposable clothing. I am returning my purchase for a refund.

Thank you, LE shoppers, for warning the rest of us! LE, please require quality control at the factories you use to produce your products, and ensure they are using PRESHRUNKEN COTTON. The extensive shrinkage reported by many sounds like substandard material.
Tall relaxed fit turtleneck a winner this year

At long last, the fit on these Women’s Tall Relaxed Fit cotton turtlenecks are perfect! Shoulder width is perfect even for us broader shouldered/narrower bodied gals, such that I was able to fit perfectly comfortably in a MT (my size in sleeveless, though I’ve often had to size up to LT (depending on shoulder cut in garments with sleeves - but then the body is often too wide. This is ‘relaxed’ enough that I can wear my real size!

Nice fabric; mock neck doesn’t look too casual to dress up; garment length, width and sleeve length are perfect.

I had been trying to get a basic white cotton turtleneck (of heavier weight than the lightweight fitted ones) for a few years, but the fit was in flux. So glad they’re back! Appreciate the sale price too!

Thanks, LE, for continuing this wardrobe staple and normalizing the sizing - especially for us Talls. You’re a clothing lifeline for us!
Nice enough
Just Me· Review provided by Lands' End · 2024. gada 13. novembris
It's surprisingly an oddly difficult to find 100% cotton mock turtleneck T shirts, especially in white. Since the majority of the US has winter for three months, I find this extremely weird. These are very nice, And they're even long enough in the sleeve for a long-armed girls. I do find the neck to be just slightly too tight, and I have a normal to thin neck. I'll probably end up tearing the seam there by pulling at the neck to stretch it. I won't buy more because of this. Otherwise, they fit well and according to their chart. I have 38" chest, and the Medium fits well except for the tight neck. They're also thinner fabric than they used to be.
