[Rewarded Review] Terrible shipping experience

July 26, 2024This is the first place I’ve placed an order and had that one order sent to me in multiple shipments in a span of three weeks. Like, serger spool of a green color in one shipment, another shipment of the same color in another shipment, a spool of khaki thread in another, two spools in a third, and my DMC threads in another. I think I might have gotten five different shipments for one order. The DMC threads came to me in the worst state of packaging. It was in a poly bag, and the threads were not in any protective bag or anything. The poly bag had holes and rips in many places, and the embroidery threads were frayed from the damage. I will continue to buy my embroidery threads from the DMC official site. I know the actual company will care about the quality of their products. As far as Joann, if I need anything from them, I’ll just order for pick up at store, or go to the store itself. I’ve had better experience that way, and I get my items more quickly. Of course, most of the items I asked to be shipped were out of stock at the store nearest me.

October 23, 2024This review is not for the product itself (DMC embroidery floss 3756), but more for whoever completed the shopping for the online order. The floss was coming out of the labels, and the threads were torn/broken in the middle of the skein. The only other items in more order were more embroidery floss (all in perfect condition) and a silicone ice mold. None of these items could have torn the floss. The shopper should have paid better attention and chosen a better floss. I know the skeins of floss are relatively cheap, but they do add up when purchasing handfuls at a time. I also could have made my purchase in the store myself, but to save time (and also money as some of the coupons ONLY work for online orders), I chose the online route. I probably will not do any more online shopping anymore and will get my skeins elsewhere.
Top Notch...if it makes it to you!

October 12, 2024This grey is beautiful and definitely adds depth and texture when working in black %26 shades of grey. Unfortunately on this particular order I had this color (DMC 414) along with black and two other greys (DMC 413 %26 DMC 3799). When our delivery arrived and the shopper handed my teen and husband our bags she simply said with a shrug that she was pretty sure at least one of our "thread things" fell out in the parking lot before she left the store. So I never recieved the first order of this color, it is beautiful though and i made a trip in store to be sure to snag it myself on my next craft supply run. I didn't even drop any as I made my supply run! In all seriousness this color is very beautiful and the quality is exactly what we all expect from DMC, %26 why we continue to purchase DMC products.

March 29, 2023For several years I have spent 2-3 hours per day cross-stitching. I have only used DMC floss. That said, I am very happy with this brand. My biggest problem is that stories that sell floss are often out of what I need, Of the four stores I shop for floss, Michaels (in Woodbury) has consistently been the best for keeping floss in stock. I have used 3 different types in my projects. Regular cotton floss. metal coated floss (gold) and nylon floss (gold and silver). If you are contemplating a project using metal floss, be aware that after 8-10 stitches, the metal will start flaking off and you will have to throw it away and start again with new floss. The nylon floss is very nice and shiny but it will start unraveling fairly quickly and requires a constant realigning of the threads to keep them from knotting.
