Andrew Alpern is an attorney, architect, and architectural historian, and the author of eight books. He holds a degree in architecture from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor degree from Yeshiva University. He lives in Manhattan, blocks away from many of the buildings he writes about.
Andrew Alpern bought his one-bedroom Chelsea apartment in 1962 with no intention to ever leave. And he hasn't. He paid just $3000.
