Description
An erect hairy perennial with a creeping and rooting habit. The stem is square, hairy on two sides.
Grows in damp ditches and woodland clearings, as well as on stony grassy places on calcareous soils.
Flowers
The blue-violet flowers are borne in whorls along the stem.
Leaves
Ovate leaf is egg-shaped, wider at base, Elliptic oval leaf. Egg-shaped to elliptic, opposite, lightly serrated. The leaves are deep green splashed with purple.
Fruits Seeds
Capsule: splits into 4 closed chambers.
