Heard Of The Skittles Manicure? Harry Styles Is A Fan

There’s a reason that the Skittles tag line is “taste the rainbow” – it’s all down to the array of different colours that greets us upon opening a packet. That colourful candy aesthetic has, more recently, been transported to our nails. None other than Harry Styles is a long-time endorser of this particular trend, having most recently shown off a multi-coloured mani on Saturday Night Live.

The Skittles manicure sees different shades of varnish being applied to each nail; sometimes it’s two different colours alternating, à la Styles, sometimes a different colour on every nail. Easiest to pull off is multiple shades of one colour, such as baby, coral and fuchsia pink, but really, anything goes.

It’s a stone’s throw away from the manicures we used to give ourselves when we were at school (the more colour the better), and the grown-up version still brings a fresh sense of fun to an outfit, or even a rock ‘n’ roll edge – especially when paired with a chunky ring on each finger.
