Product Description
Robust and large catmint, 2' to 2.5' tall x 2' wide clumps of gray leaves and blue-purple flowers from late spring.
One of several top performing catmints in Chicago Botanic Garden trials, gaining 5 of 5 possible stars!
Stems can be up to 3' long, but arch down with the weight of flowers and leaves. Flowers for very long period - in cooller areas blooms continuously throughout summer to fall, in hotter areas will stop blooming in early to mid summer, but can be easily cut back, because it re-sprouts very quickly and will set up another flush of blooms.
Full sun is the best, half shade (dry half shade), soils with some drainage - average soil, shallow, rocky, sandy, gravelly soils, poor soil.
Medium moist to dry.
Hardy in zones 3 to 8.
Bee and butterfly friendly, deer and rabbit resistant.
Excellent mound forming and dependable perennial for sunny borders, great edging plant of filling plant in public or private gardens.
Combine with Echinacea, Monarda bradburyana, Monarda fistulosa, Rudbeckia, Paeonia, Penstemon digitalis, Salvia nemorosa, yucca, grasses and many other native or non-native perennials for drained or drier soils.
