Argynnis niobe - Niobe Fritillary - Duinparelmoervlinder - Mittlerer Perlmutterfalter
The ground colour of the uppersides (male and female) is orange with dark-brown or black spots. The underside of the forewing is orange with a yellowish tip and the usual dark spots. The underside of the hindwing is yellowish with or without silver spots and often dusted with green at the base. The veins are lined with black and the pale spot at the base of the cell generally contains a tiny black spot. Flight from June to August in flower-rich grassland. Rapid flyer which can be found from sea level to 2500 m. The larval foodplants are various violets.
