Papaver rhoeas ‘Flanders Poppy’ – The single, red, cup-shaped flower is the classic poppy bloom, a native wildflower of Europe & the symbol of Remembrance Day. It offers a profusion of flowers from Spring to Autumn and are a good choice if you want a bright splash of colour with no maintenance. It self-sows readily & the plant is fully hardy.

Sowing Advice-
Sow Papaver rhoeas ‘Flanders Poppy’ outdoors from spring to early summer in short drills 12mm deep at around 20°C. Cover lightly with soil. Staggered sowings through spring will extend the flowering season. Seeds are best sown directly where they are to flower. Seeds germinate in less than two weeks. The seedlings will appear in rows approx 6 to 8 weeks after planting and thin the seedlings out so they are finally 10 to 15cms apart by early summer. Compost should be kept slightly moist, but not wet at all times.
