A fast-growing plant capable of twining its way up banksias, tea trees and other indigenous plants.

It has white, pink or purple flowers in Spring to Summer which develop to distinct seed pods.

It is a very invasive weed in Sandy Point found in the Shallow Inlet area, on roadsides as well as in coastal dunes through Sandy Point Beach access tracks right to Ned Neale’s track.

Established vines have thick up to 10 cm diameter stems at ground level. Its roots can be deep and difficult to remove but very small plants can be pulled or dug out. Landcare lists methods to remove plants including 'cut and paint' and spraying when actively growing. Follow up is required as the plant regrows quickly.
