Dictenidia bimaculata
There were two and the difference can be seen from their antennas. One of them was missing some of its appendages.
I found this site, showing that the color can change easily if they are mating or not so you are right. And the first 2 photos are of a male and the third one of a female (With short antennae). http://www.commanster.eu/commanster/Inse...
You are right, the ID fits to my third picture. It's just coloration is changing I guess depends on the photographer :)
Sorry, I meant the posterior end but otherwise looks like the same. I will check now a bit more about it. Thanks a lot!
I have both the male and female, the first 2 photos are from the same individual and the third one is from a different one. Its antennae are a lot shorter.
I can't read German but I google translate it :)
The ID you have suggested looks like it's anterior end is a lot darker than my spotting.
Tipulidae, Dictenidia bimaculata, formerly alo called Tipula bimaculata.

Can you read German?

Yours is the female.
If I had to guess, I would say that this is a species of Crane Fly, Infraorder Tipulomorpha. I don't have a good reference for European insects though. Perhaps you will be able to get more info with a place to begin.
Hope it helps.
