Coprinopsis or Coprinus sp.

Either Coprinopsis sp. or Coprinus sp.

Description:

Agaric mushrooms, I think most likely Coprinopsis or Coprinus sp. ink caps. Grooved (or split) cap with scales, although top of cap smooth with small spots. Whitish-fawn colour. Dark grey gills. Stipe smooth with no ring. Growing in small glusters, although only found along small section of track. Evidence of feeding on some specimens.

Habitat:

Found along the Reservoir Track in the Brisbane Forest Park at Enoggera Reservoir. Thick native bushland vegetation. Amongst leaf litter and debris on mostly sandy soil. Filtered light for most of the day, although a couple of specimens I found were fully-exposed to sunlight, growing on pebbles in the middle of the track. Ground still moist from recent rains.
