Cucumber Magnolia
Description
The hardiest of all Magnolias native to the United States. In Indiana, it is naturally found only in the south. Grows best on cool, moist sites within its range. Flowers are large, borne singly, bell-shaped and greenish-yellow. Fruit is a green, cucumber-shaped cone. Seeds ripen to bright red.
