You raise a point I can't spread enough: photos sitting on hard disk can have a lot of value. They can be species intros, simply a joy to watch for others, and they can even be rare observations. Thank you for unlocking that value! Posted 6 years ago

  In fact this photo is a cropped detail of a bigger image with main subject Nuthach - Sitta europaea. I guess checking the old photos some more new species could pop up.
  Moreover - with the passing of years, one is changing his mind as far as the creative side of photography is concerned - I hope in a positive direction. Another view of composition, contrast, color temperature, and so on. Now I look at my old photos with another eye and appreciate them differently.     Well said. Some members, including yourself, I've seen grow and improve over the years. It's a very visible thing. You've developed your own signature. I can see from a thumbnail when it's you.
    
    The other trend I find even more fascinating is people transforming into becoming species-aware in the field. Actively identifying and going on trips to find new species.

The Net-marked parmelia

Net-marked parmelia is a foliose lichen in the family Parmeliaceae. It is very tolerant of pollution and has a cosmopolitan distribution, making it one of the most common lichens. It harbours a unicellular "Trebouxia" green algal symbiont.
