I spotted this thallose liverwort growing on the side of peaty burn. Although I recognised it as a liverwort I did not know enough to take a proper look for the features to identify to the species level. There are two likely species namely P. epiphylla and P. neesiana, but without photos of the sexual organs it is very difficult to make the identification to species level.
