Observation - Earthfan thelephora penicillata ? - UK and Ireland. Description: I was on my knees looking at other fungi when I spotted what I thought at first was a bit of bleache
I was on my knees looking at other fungi when I spotted what I thought at first was a bit of bleached or dried moss but then i was nt sure what it was . I have seen thelephora terrestris before but this was different . The fingers were about 2-3 cm in height and fan shaped amongst the moss it was growing in they were fawn /brown at the base.. There was only a small patch of it . I took a small bit home but only came across a possible ID much later . Sorry I have no SP and the photo is poor . I don t think it is recorded up here from looking at NBN Atlas but then there are probably not so many folk out looking. Any help or thought would be welcome
