Extensive population across Victorian cemetery opened in 1858.
Not sure if the cemetery was turfed at that time or ever turfed as was created from agricultural land and many grass and sedge species still extant at this grade 1 site for nature conservation.
Cardamine pratensis and Luzula campestre also believed to be extant from pre-cemetery meadow.
Part of cemetery acid grassland with the rest is on London Clay (so slightly alkaline to alkaline?).
Could this be a native population of Poa angustifolia? or are there old, Victorian hybrids or cultivars of Poa pratensis s.s that are close to P. angustifolia?
Books say Poa pratensis s.l. is variable.
