Brown rotter of conifer wood. This pretty annual can be found on dead conifer wood and on conifer lumber. Zonate and irregularly shaped cap and gills are initially shades of rusty-orange, but as the fruit body matures the cap becomes dark brown from the point of attachment outward. The margin typically remains orange. The tough maze-like to gill-like pores become paler. This is in the Gloeophyllaceae family of the Gloeophyllales order.
