Fossil Springtail (Symphlypleones) & Fly (Empididae) In Baltic Amber
This 44 million year old piece of baltic amber contains two preserved fossil insects, a springtail (order Symphypleona) and a fly (order Diptera, family Empididae). This amber also features a fly (order Diptera) that is about 3.5mm wide, however there is no photo of this fly.
As a reminder, most inclusions in baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
