The caterpillars feed on leaves of oak species from July to May, and overwinter on branches of their host plant. The green larvae turn their colouration to brown in autumn, before hibernation. Green-coloured adults fly from May to July. The species occurs in oak woods and forests.

Symptom

The caterpillar is green. She has a yellow stripe behind her head, is massive and often sits as if she has a ridge just behind her head. Eat in the upper parts of the crown. There are holes in the leaves, or they are eaten from the sides.
