H A C, Henry Alexander Carmichael Jackson was the brother of A.Y. Jackson is a famously a member of the group of seven artists. This unknown brother Henry was also an artist who made his living as a commercial artist in Montreal. On weekends Henry used to go off into the woods and find various species of mushrooms that he would draw in meticulous detail. Drawings were done in Montreal and the Quebec countryside during the Depression, the Second World War, and the period immediately following. They were discovered in 1978 when his daughter met a couple publishers at a cocktail party and told them of the collection of Henry’s drawings of mushrooms she had. The forty-two full-colour plates come from his detailed notebooks kept from 1927 to 1954. Forty are reproduced actual size, revealing Jackson's extraordinary eye for detail and total command of technique. His masterful colouring and delicacy of touch fully transcend the original documentary purposes of his works.
Condition: The condition is excellent except for a couple light creases. Print has no other issues. Clean.

If there are shipping charges exceeding $2 over the true price, I will refund them upon mailing.
