Height: up to 50 feet tall
Spread: 20 - 40 feet wide
Foliage: two needles for each fascicle and very stiff

each needle grows 3" to 5" long

Flower: monecious
Fruit: cones that are 2 to 3 inches long, round, and held on tree
Bark: dark brown furrows with gray-brown, flattened ridges

can be very attractive

Water: somewhat drought-tolerant
Soil: tolerates alkaline soils
USDA Zone: zones 3b - 7
