"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" Premieres in London

NEW YORK (CBS) It was a magical night in London on Thursday as the cast of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" stepped out for the film's premiere.

The leading trio - Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - posed for photos on the red carpet alongside "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling and costars including Ralph Fiennes (who plays the evil Lord Voldemort), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy).

The film is the first of the two-part culmination of the "Potter" film franchise. The second "Deathly Hallows" installment will come out next year.

"It gets bigger every year. I can't believe it," Watson said of the frenzy around the movies. "The adrenaline from doing this is pretty crazy. I feel like I'm about to go over the top of a roller coaster."

She also touched on the reaction to her new, super-short pixie haircut, which the Brown University freshman got now that her time as Hermione Granger (who's known for her long, bushy hair) has ended.

"Generally the reaction's been positive but it's a bit of a shock for some people because it's different," she told reporters.

Radcliffe talked about hanging up his wand for good - and the mementos he kept from the set.

"I stole the glasses!" Radcliffe told Entertainment Tonight. "[Actually], they gave them to me - I asked for them. I've got one pair from the first film, which are very very small now for my head, and the very last ones I wore in [this] film, so yeah. They're in a very safe place -- not in my house, because that would just be foolish and I would break them."

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" follows Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley as they forgo their final year at Hogwarts in order to find and destroy the Horcruxes that are the keys to Lord Voldemort's immortality.
