Purchase options and add-ons

  • Based off of Princeton's PT2399 Echo Application Circuit (straight off the datasheet), this PCB gives you the exact set-up recommended by the manufacturer. Engineers and hobbyists alike can use this basic design to modify it for their own purposes The PT2399 Echo Processor IC is a very versatile circuit with adjustable input/output filtering, delay length, wet/dry mix, and a lot of unexplored potential!
  • All former PT2399 Mods are now integrated into this kit! Get the Feedback, Feedblast and Warp mods!
  • On-board 5V regulator allows for multiple powering options and interfacing with digital circuits. Use a 9V battery, 9-18V AC Adapter, or connect it to your central power supply.
  • The PT2399 Echo IC was designed to mimic old-school analog BBD delay with modern digital sampling technology. Repeats degrade at higher delay lengths, resulting is a very natural well-filtered reproduction of your synth/guitar tone.
  • 2 potentiometer placement positions adhere to the datasheet schematic, allowing for direct control over how much delay is present in the output signal. Delay length is variable from fast slapback echo to long dub-style repeats to noisy long repeat madness! Mix allows you to set the wet/dry portions of the signal.

Product Description

The PT2399 Delay Dev Kit is a great way to get started experimenting with the PT2399 Echo Processor IC! Features: Based off of Princeton's PT2399 Echo Application Circuit (straight off the datasheet), this PCB gives you the exact set-up recommended by the manufacturer. Engineers and hobbyists alike can use this basic design to modify it for their own purposes The PT2399 Echo Processor IC is a very versatile circuit with adjustable input/output filtering, delay length, wet/dry mix, and a lot of unexplored potential! On-board 5V regulator allows for multiple powering options and interfacing with digital circuits. Use a 9V battery, 9-18V AC Adapter, or connect it to your central power supply. 2 potentiometer placement positions adhere to the datasheet schematic, allowing for direct control over how much delay is present in the output signal. Delay length is variable from fast slapback echo to long dub-style repeats to noisy long repeat madness! Mix allows you to set the wet/dry portions of the signal. The PT2399 Echo IC was designed to mimic old-school analog BBD delay with modern digital sampling technology. Repeats degrade at higher delay lengths, resulting is a very natural well-filtered reproduction of your synth/guitar tone. PCB silkscreen, through-hole components with careful on-board placement, and wire-tension relief holes were designed with the DIYer in mind! PCB Dimensions: 3.125" x 1.375." Great for synths and guitars! Easy to configure and mod your circuit for a greater delay range, delay length modulation, and a lot more!

Could not get board to work, support was unhelpful and did not get issue resolved. Would avoid this kit

Parts are through-hole, which makes building the board easy.

Bad instructions since this is no longer in production. All parts very cheap. I’m the end did it work. Took my time did the best I could can’t figure out what’s wrong. Waste of time and money for me.

several of the parts in this kit were faulty (buttons, potentiometers). The pads are also really small, increases the difficulty in soldering. Like other reviewers, I got it barely working, but without features due to faulty parts. not recommended

Also a big issue, the picture on Amazon's page shows Switchcraft style rugged open 1/4" connectors, which are considerably better than what actually came in my kit. It came with cheap plastic parts with very thin metal instead of what was shown in the picture. This is misleading/false, whatever

UPDATE 5.3.2022: After reaching out by email, they sent me replacement buttons and the proper switchcraft style jacks. I raised it to 3 stars for that reason but I can't recommend this kit.

Works well. Though the included pictures for adding the modification components/wiring connections could be better (the pics are quite small and grainy).

Purchased this new on eBay but wanted to share my experience. I have built many kits previously and have had no issues. Kit was an easy build but no success in getting it to work. I have checked continuity against the schematic and everything checks out. I can only assume that there is a defective component. I have contacted Synthrotek tech support numerous times and received two replies stating they will investigate from the pictures I sent of the build. No responses since then after repeated requests. Giving up and will be purchasing from a company who provides support for their products.

Update 02/15/21 - After still no response from tech support, gave it another go and finally found the issue. Not 1 but 2 bad potentiometers in the kit. Replaced with Alpha pots and it is now working.

I added the mods shown on Synthrotek's web page / you tube channel and I love it. Total audio mutation

Easy to build, great echo/reverb effects with my analog synth.
