Scutellaria Lateriflora, commonly known as Skullcap, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the mint family. It is native to North America and typically grows in wet meadows and along streams. The plant is characterized by its blue or purple flowers that are shaped like a helmet, hence its common name.

As for a recipe, here's a simple one to enjoy the flavor of Skullcap:

Skullcap Tea:
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon dried Scutellaria Lateriflora leaves
1 cup boiling water
Honey or lemon to taste (optional)
Instructions:

Put the dried Skullcap leaves in a tea strainer or tea bag.
Place the strainer or tea bag in a cup.
Pour boiling water over the Skullcap leaves.
Let it steep for 5-7 minutes.
Remove the strainer or tea bag, and add honey or lemon to taste if desired.

Makes a very nice, light, herbal tea. I don't think I've felt any of the effects of drinking it, but that doesn't mean I won't drink it. I've only brewed it on its own but I have some tea mixes that have it mixed in so I know it will go well with other things. I wish it had a dosage or amount to use on the package. I think I went online and read somewhere to steep 1tsp in hot water so that's what I've been doing.
