Now a days Medical image processing is the most challenging and emerging field. The image processing is an important aspect of medical science to visualize the different anatomical structure of human body .Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is one of the significant techniques for examining human body. This paper describes how to detect and extraction of brain tumour from patient's MRI scan images of the brain. Here by using MATLAB software and using the basic concept of image processing, detection and extraction of tumour from MRI scan images of the brain is done.
Brain tumour (tumour- British English, tumor-American English) is a group of cell that grows abnormally in the cell, nerves and other parts of the brain. Methods such as X-Ray, CT-Scan, MRI is available to detect the brain tumour. Many researches have found that people die due to inaccurate detection of the affected brain tumour part. It is necessary to find the accurate part of the affected area of the brain tumor. Bio-medical image processing is the most challenging and upcoming field in the present world. By using MATLAB, the tumour present in the MRI brain image is segmented and the type of tumour is specified using SVM classifier (Support Vector Machine).

Medical image processing is the most emergent field these days and processing of images scanned through MRI are the part of it. For image processing, Segmentation is widely used. In that way MRI-Magnetic Resonance Imaging has become practical means for the analysis of brain tumor images. In the paper we have presented some noise removal functions, three types of segmentation and morphological operations. Using MATLAB software, we have detected and extracted the tumor from MRI scan images.

This method incorporates with some noise removal functions, segmentation and morphological operations which are the basic concepts of image processing. In the medical era the Brain tumor is one of the most important research areas in the field of medical sciences. - This paper deals with the implementation of Simple Algorithm for detection of range and shape of tumor in brain MR images. Tumor is an uncontrolled growth of tissues in any part of the body. Tumors are of different types and they have different Characteristics and different treatment. As it is known, brain tumor is inherently serious and life-threatening because of its character in the limited space of the intracranial cavity (space formed inside the skull). Most Research in developed countries show that the number of people who have brain tumors were died due to the fact of inaccurate detection. Generally, CT scan or MRI that is directed into intracranial cavity produces a complete image of brain. This image is visually examined by the physician for detection & diagnosis of brain tumor. However this method of detection resists the accurate determination of stage & size of tumor. To avoid that, this project uses computer aided method for segmentation (detection) of brain tumor based on the combination of two algorithms. This method allows the segmentation of tumor tissue with accuracy and reproducibility comparable to manual segmentation. In addition, it also reduces the time for analysis. At the end of the process the tumor is extracted from the MR image and its exact position and the shape also determined. The stage of the tumor is displayed based on the amount of area calculated from the cluster.

It is obvious that there are odds of survival if the tumour is recognized and assesed accurately at the beginning time. Tumor is characterized as abnormal development of tissues. Brain tumor is an unusual mass of tissues where cells develop and increase wildly. Medical image processing is one of the most challenging and emerging field now-a-days.
