Tentsmuir and NO 5028
I had another look at my square. Discovered that the GPS and the phone app don’t agree…so I’ll have to go back again. This is all a lot harder than I thought it would be. But it’s good to explore these dunes, and become familiar with them.
For example, a sand cliff seems to have developed near the large piece of driftwood.
I found my other driftwood still in place, marking the boundary of plot 2 (this is why I must go back with the GPS, before the next storm…).
In plot 3, I found Evening Primrose.
And a mystery. Firm and smooth to touch, but what on earth is it?
The cows were still occupying the sea milkwort plain, so I didn’t find the Glasswort or the Sea blite again this time.
It was a sunny/cloudy/windy day, with sand ghosts running down to the sea.
On the way there, I couldn’t get over the huge expanse of Sea Aster just outside Tayport – I was so excited to find a few plants among the dunes last year.
And it was good to find another Orache for my “collection” – Grass-leaved Orache, Atriplex littoralis. Small fruits clustered on long thin shoots.
