Collembola sp. -"Giant White Springtail"

White temperate springtails can adapt to super soggy setups and even vaguely moist ones. These animals are an excellent first layer of cleaner crew and keep both invertebrates and reptiles healthy. White springtails pose no risk to any other animal, even when they reach a population of thousands. They're so small most hardly notice them. These springtails are also frequently used as feeders for small reptiles and invertebrates. We have kept our colonies in deli cups with some of our substrate in the past, and on clay and charcoal. Each 2oz deli cup will contain no less than 45 springtails. We feed our springtails moistened brewers yeast sprinkled lightly on the top of their substrate / clay medium.
