Over the next few weeks, leading up to RIDETZ, we are going to be introducing the 11 wonderful, enthusiastic, and excited riders, who will be taking off on June 16th!  This way, you can learn about the riders before they leave, and then you can follow them through their journey on the blog as we post updates throughout the ride!  Today, we introduce Sutton Kauss.

1)     Where are you from?

I am originally from Chicago (Lake Bluff to be exact). Currently, I live in New York… I made the move from Chicago at the end of last year.

2)     What do you do for work?

I am a Global Recruiting Manager at an innovative legal services firm. It’s a job that definitely challenges me every day.

3)     What do you like to do on your spare time?

These days I spend all of my free time at spin classes prepping for the ride as well as working on a start-up I’m a part of, The Lunch Read. When I am not doing either of those, I love photography, live music, and finding new and unique things to do in New York.

4)     Who is your inspiration in life?

I don’t have one person in particular to name, but I am most inspired by those who possess positive attitudes in life. I am a firm believer that a positive attitude can be one of your best assets. I have a feeling I am going to be meeting a lot of positive and inspiring people on this trip and I can’t wait to learn from all of them!

5)     How did you hear about RIDETZ?

I heard about RideTZ through my best friend, Kaitlin Rogers. Kaitlin and I have been friends since we were 5 years old and I’ve gotten to witness Kaitlin’s kind heart and intense dedication to helping others for over 20 years now. Lucky me!

6)     What inspired you to want to ride this June?

The chance to witness TFFT’s work and mission firsthand is once in a lifetime… then add the chance to cycle from Kilimanjaro to the Indian Ocean, sleep under the stars each night and push yourself beyond all physical and mental limits? Well, that is just a dream come true for me.

I have heard so much about TFFT through Kaitlin over the years and now, through RideTZ, it has been a true honor to help spread the word about The Foundation For Tomorrow. I am so grateful to be a part of something so special.

7)     Are you celebrating any milestone with RIDETZ?

Does riding 400 miles across Tanzania count?! I’ll definitely want to celebrate that milestone! 🙂

8)     What is your favorite place to ride? (besides Tanzania that is)

Training in Manhattan has been…. interesting. I will say, though, that I have taken some pretty beautiful spins around Central Park.

We are so excited to have Sutton joining us on the ride!  If you would like to support Sutton’s RIDETZ campaign, you can do so here.
