Morley's Final Catalogue: Of quite frequent occurrence from Brantham to Beccles, and Aldeburgh to Brandon.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common.

Life history: Double-brooded. The distinctive and colourful larvae are commonly found in the county throughout the summer and autumn, feeding on a wide variety of plants including Brambles.

Identification: Poplar grey lacks the obvious white spot in the corner of the forewing. Scarce dagger also lacks the white spot and has a black dagger mark on the wing.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.
