Morley's Final Catalogue: Broadly distributed, but rarely in considerable numbers. Sometimes common in Bentley Woods; local about Ipswich and Hemley; rarely seen in High Suffolk, e.g. Monks Soham garden; Gorleston cliff, sometimes at light. The form bilinea, has been especially noticed in Combs Wood (C) and about Bury (Skepper).

Recent Suffolk Status: Abundant.

Life history: Single-brooded. Larvae have been found occasionally in the county in leaf litter.

Identification: Unmistakeable.

Habitat: A wide variety of habitats including gardens.

Recorded in 52 (90%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1939.
Last Recorded in 2023.
