3 Placodermi pronounced: plac-o-derm
Any of a class (Placodermi) of extinct chiefly Devonian fishes with an armor of bony plates and primitive jaw structures. An ancient fish existing during the Devonian period of time. It was a jawed fish that went extinct during the Hangenberg. The Placodermi are my favorite group of prehistoric fish.

4 Pectoral Fins pronounced: pec-tor-al fin
Each of a pair of fins situated on either side just behind a fish's head, helping to control the direction of movement during locomotion. They correspond to the forelimbs of other vertebrates. The side fins of a fish used to control the movement. The fish used pectoral fins to change directions while swimming.

5 Orogeny pronounced: aw-ROJ-uh-nee
The process of mountain making or upheaval. When plate tectonics come together to make mountains. The orogeny that caused the Rainer Mountains were a blessing to Washington State.

6 Invertebrate pronounced: in-VUR-tuh-brit An animal without vertebrae.
An animal without a backbone, such as a starfish or squid. The starfish is an example of an invertebrate animal.

7 Prolonged pronounced: pro-longd Continuing for a long period of time.
Something that occurs over the course of much time. The test was very prolonged, due to the delay.

Credibility Score: 7 It’s a magazine, so I can’t say that it’s 100% credible, but they seem to check their sources, as well as list the author(s).
