Maitake contains B vitamins, ergosterol (a precursor to vitamin D), magnesium, potassium, calcium and polyunsaturated fatty acids.
The fruit body of Grifola frondosa (maitake) was confirmed to contain substances with anti-diabetic activity.
It also helps to reduce fasting blood glucose, triglycerides, insulin and body weight.
