This is a long-lived and choice flowering perennial, with its regal, upright form, attractive pairs of flowers and leaves that are edged in cream. The creamy edges brighten up a woodland or shady garden. And the leaves turn light yellow before dropping off in fall. It grows well as far north as USDA Zone 3 and as far south as Zone 8 in the East, and Zone 9 in the West.
