Chaenomeles Japonica, or more commonly know as Maule's Quince, is a shrub with green foliage and orange flowers of the genus Chaenomeles. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 8 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It's active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during early spring, is somewhat tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially.
