Carex Hirta, or more commonly know as Hammer Sedge, is a graminoid of the genus Carex. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. Carex Hirta or Hammer Sedge's floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
