Hedgerow Crane’s-Bill Geranium pyrenaicum

Geranium pyrenaicum Burm. f.

Plant height 40-60 cm. Flower width 1.4-1.8 cm.

The flowers are fairly small and usually appear in pairs, and the purple-pinkish petals overlap to give a starry effect. The leaves are alternate and palmately lobed. The fruit is beak-shaped.

It flowers June to August, and can be found in hedgerows, woodland margins and in meadows. Less common than some of the other crane’s-bills, and found mainly in the south of Britain.
