Beautiful Demoiselle Calopteryx virgo


Species Information
Length: 45mm. The male has a metallic blue body with dark wings, where as the female has metallic green-bronze body with translucent pale brown wings.

Seen April to September, and mainly found along streams and rivers, particularly those with sand or gravel bottoms. Locally abundant.
