Cerastium arvense L. subsp. arvense

Taxonomy: Fam. Caryophyllaceae// Genus: Cerastium// Species: Cerastium arvense L. // Subspecies: Cerastium arvense L. subsp. arvense.

Determined according to the botanical keys provided by Jalas; Sell and Whitehead in Tutin et al. (1964) and Gajić in Josifović (1970).

Habitat: Open habitats – grasslands/ pastures in the montane region at c. 1700 m altitude.

Distribution: Native from Europe to Central Asia, Russian Far East and Japan; Northwest Africa according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew).

Lifeform: Perennial, hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiaer system.

Flowering period: Late spring- summer: MAY, JUN, JUL.
