Lifeform: Annual; Therophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Distribution: The native range of this species is Macaronesia, Temperate Eurasia, North Africa to Tanzania according to the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Habitat: Found in pastures, grasslands, rocky terrains, in sparse bushland vegetation, clearings of oak and European beech forests, up to c. 1500 m altitude.
Flowering period: Spring -summer: APR, MAY, JUN.
