Aulacomnium palustre Is a full shade high humidity moss that grows on Sandy soil

Aulacomnium palustre is just stunning and her male plants will make you look twice as they resemble tiny stars or flowers with a black dot.
She forms tufts 3–12 cm tall, with pale yellow-green leaves that contrast
strongly with the ginger-brown, felt-like rhizoids which cover the stem.
Shoots occasionally terminate in an elongated stalk with a terminal cluster of gemmae.
When dry, the leaves become somewhat crisped and twisted.
The leaves are 4–6 mm long near the top of the shoot, but shorter below, spearhead-shaped, shortly pointed, matt and pale yellow-green.
Curved, furrowed capsules 2.5 mm long are produced occasionally.

Our clay/Alfisols discs are inoculated withAulacomnium palustre spores and mother plant which, once wet, will grow after 3 weeks into moss that then connects together into a carpet and spread from there. The benefit of growing from spores is 1- they grow and thrive in the environment, if terrarium or moss garden, or water feature 2- the clay/Alfisols discs can be molded into any shape once wet and will stick to any surface. To give the spores the correct substrate 3 discs is equal to 30x30cm of the substrate, you simply mix the clay disc into the substrate and spread it into a 30x30cm carpet.
