A native U.K. wild flower with creeping roots from which arise stems bearing whorls of four large leaves, in the centre of which appear the most unusual flowers in spring. Two inches/ 5cm or more across, these consist of an outer ring of yellow-green, petal-like sepals and an inner ring of awl-shaped yellow-green petals.

Prefers a constantly moist, humus rich, acidic soil in partial shade  

Height: 12-18 inches / 30-45cm

Spread: 12-24 inches / 30-60cm
