Growing form
Annual herb.
Size
30–120 cm long.
Stem
The stem is procumbent, often tangled with other plants and supported by them, quadrangular and uncinate. The hairs are thickened at the base.
Leaf
The leafs and leaf-like stipules form a radiate whorl. The whorl consists of 4–8 leaves. The lamina is narrow-elliptic – obovate, entire, mucronate, and uncinate on the adaxial side, at the margin and along the midrib on the abaxial side.
Flower
The inflorescence is an axillary, lax cyme with 2–5 flowers. The flowers are bisexual. The corolla is 1.5–2 mm wide, connate, four-lobed, rotate and white. The calyx is reduced.
Fruit and seed
The fruit is a two-sectioned, nearly globose, 3–5 mm long and uncinate schizocarp. The hairs are thickened at the base.
