Plants polymorphic. Mostly robust, light or grayish green, glossy, procumbent plants, may be grown over dead wood log where soil has been accumulated. Branching irregularly pinnate, branches spreading or ascending, often curved. Paraphyllia very few. Leaves closely imbricate, falcate, concave, ovate or oblong-lanceolate; margin smooth or faintly denticulate at tip; costa double , short but may be indistinct. Lamina cells linear; alar cells well developed by a large number of quadrate to sub-quadrate cells, 25.0-30.0 x17.0-20.0 μ. Sporophyte on main stem. Top Perichaetial leaves erect and sheathing. Seta erect, slender, long, 1.2-2.5 cm ;capsule sub-cylindrical, curved, erect to nodding, 1.2-1.5 x 0.3-0.4 mm. ; operculum conic-rostrate; peristome normal, perfect, hypnoid ; spores small.
