Plants forming dense green tufts. Stems often forked by innovating branch from the side of the sporophyte; stem 0.4-0.5mm long (without innovation ) in fruiting plants, much longer in sterile plants. Leaves falcate, usually second, crumpled when dry, 0.4-0.5mm long, gradually narrowing down from a wider concave leaf base ; upper narrow long part of leaf more or less canaliculated, subulate with denticulate margin. Costa reddish brown, occasionally 1/4th to 1/5th of leaf at base, distinct, occupying greater part of subula through a narrow width of lamina can be traced up to tip. Leaf base cells elongated rectangular 20.5-45.5 μ in length and 5.0-6.0 μ in breadth; those at tip rather pointed causing denticulation. Perichaetial leaf sheathing, slightly longer- otherwise similar to ordinary leaves. Seta yellow, almost straight when moist, twisted when dry, 1.0 - 1.2 cm long. Capsule brown, elliptical- oblong, 1.3- 1.5mm long and 0.5 - 0.6 mm in diameter, inclined and slightly curved, when dry furrowed and the mouth oblique and incurved.
