SUMMARY
Thallus smooth or slightly uneven, whitish green to green-grey.
Anamorph: conidiomata pycnidia, rare; conidia 2-5 × ca 1 μm.
Teleomorph: ascomata lirellate apothecia, unbranched or branched, elongate, 5-25 × 1-2 mm. True exciple black, not furrowed. Disc narrow, erumpent, exposed even when dry, ± whitish pruinose. Interascal tissue of mostly unbranched paraphyses, the apical cells narrowly moniliform, within a dark gelatinous epithecial layer. Asci clavate to subcylindrical, non-fissitunicate, dehiscence by an apical split, not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores 25-70 × 6-10 μm, 5- to 15-septate, fusiform-cylindrical, hyaline, smooth, I+ violet when mature, surrounded by a gelatinous sheath.
Chemistry: thallus C-, K-; lichen products not detected by TLC.
